Sweet Treats for Kids. Yes or No? RECIPES, TODAY. 1pm ET

teacher's treats

To train dogs we all know you reach the desired behavioral results when you reward them with doggie treats.  The question is, should we be doing the same with children?  How often do your kids come home from school with candy their teachers have given them because they followed the rules or did well on a quiz?  Have you taken your kids to the ice cream shop on the days they came home with 100% on their spelling test? What about the times some say to their kids, “If you eat your spinach, you can have dessert?” Is your cookie jar your reward center for settling down, focusing and completing homework?  What are the true consequences of this sweet treat reward syndrome?  Are there other equally effective alternatives – if so, what are they?  Our guest, Casey Hinds (KYHealthyKids.com), a mom who is passionate on this subject, has thoroughly researched this issue. Our co-host, Carolina Jantac, RD (Kid Kritics Approved) also has a strong opinion on this subject.  You are in for a lively discussion about using sweet treats as a reward!

Join Carolina, Casey and me as we make your life easier in the kitchen with Better Food Choices. Wed., 1pm ET on W4HC radio  (Health Cafe Live).

… for the health of your family,
